The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has congratulated billionaire businessman and Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, on his 69th birthday, describing him as a major driver of the nation’s economy.Dangote was born on April 10, 1957, in the ancient city of Kano, in present-day North-West Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity on Friday, Musa Krishi, the Speaker said Dangote has “remained the leader of Nigeria’s private sector and one of the drivers of the country’s economy through his multi-billion-dollar investments.”
Abbas particularly cited the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, one of the world’s largest petrochemical facilities, which he said has become a buffer for Nigeria’s economy against the global impact of the US/Israel-Iran war.
While saluting Dangote’s doggedness, the Speaker commended him for his belief in Nigeria and the courage to invest locally.
